Course contents :  
Main medical diseases of ruminants and pigs in relation with the :

  • neonatalogy;
  • digestive system (including fluidotherapy);
  • respiratory system;
  • cardiovascular system;
  • urinary system;
  • nervous system
  • metabolism and endocrinology;
  • skin.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Description of the main internal diseases of ruminants and pigs.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
  • Structure and functioning of normal production animals;
  • Clinical examination of production animals;
  • Relationships with other courses : parasitology, bacteriology, virology, immunology, clinical biology, nutrition, food hygiene, necropsy, surgery, obstetrics and theriogenology of production animals, rural economy etc.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
This theoretical course is largely illustrated by slides and videos of clinical cases and by the participation, during the 2d and 3d years of Master, to the clinic for ruminants, the clinic for pigs, the ambulatory clinic and the cattle farms visits.

Available at the "Office des cours" of the faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
The evaluation is organised as a written examination including open questions with long or short answers. Questions concern essentially clinical cases.
