Course contents :  
During the 1st Masters, students will carry out a work placement worth 12 credits in a working environment likely to lead to the acquisition of expertise in the field of the science of work.
The seminar aims to support students through their work experience. It will provide them with the methodological tools necessary to acquire the ability to adopt a critical position and to set out a research problem based on their observations. Finally, the seminar will help students to structure their placement report.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The course has a two-fold objective. On the one hand, it offers the tools for analysing the work placement from a methodological point of view. On the other hand, it offers a theoretical framework for students' experiences on the ground, using a collectively constructed research problem.

Ways in which the seminars are organised

Seminars will be organised in two blocks. In the first term, classes will give students the opportunity to acquire the necessary methodological tools. The second term will be devoted to carrying out the work placement as well as monitoring this experience and drafting a work placement report. Themes will be addressed either in the form of seminars or discussion sessions.

Recommended or required readings :  
The rules of the placement as well as various documents will be made available throughout the year. In addition, a reading portfolio will be made available in the second term.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
(1st and 2nd session)
Theoretical and methodological knowledge relating to social science research will be assessed through a synthetical piece of work.

A part of this piece of work consists of carrying out an interview, transcribing it and drafting a one-page critical note.
