Presentation and illustration of contemporary movements and organizations in developing countries linked to the theme of globalization. Socio-political aspects and mobilizations in Latin America. Learning outcomes of the course :   General introduction to a specialised area of sociology. Knowledge of and critical approach to the main theoretical schools and leading authors. Introduction to the problems of globalization through the social movements and civil organizations relating to it. To question the analysis of contemporary movements linked to globalization through the mobilizations and protests of developing countries, especially in Latin America. Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :   None Planned learning activities and teaching methods :   None Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :   Lectures and regular question and answer sessions. Lectures by invited experts. Group work around the themes developed by the invited experts. 30 hours course (theory), given in the second term, on Fridays from 12 noon-2.30 pm.
