Radiation interactions - biological material

part : medical imaging

Introduction to radiology and nuclear medicine, including 2D and 3D tomography reconstruction techniques used by these medical imaging modalities.

Learning outcomes of the course :

Study of the physical processes involved in radiation of biological material. Quantum approach to collisional processes. Medical applications.

An overview of the physical foundations of radiology and nuclear medicine.

Physics of collisions. Kinematics.

Courses "Modern physics" and "Experimental physics - nuclear detection" of Bachelor in physical sciences or equivalent courses.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

Mainly theoretical course. A few hours will be devoted to practical exercices with digital images.
