This course will concentrate on logical questions raised by Aristotle in Chapter 9 of the treatise On Interpretation. There it will be demonstrated, by means of modal logic, a-letheic logic and measurable grammatical time, that Aristotle limits the principle of Bivalence to statements bearing upon the past and the present, because the principle implies the linearity of time. Next, we will turn our attention to the logic of assertion that Aristotle develops in the same chapter.
