Course contents :  
This seminar will examine an in-depth question relating to French mediaeval literature (langue d'oïl and Occitan) and to introduce the student to research (exploration of specialised instruments, attendance at scientific meetings - meetings of the Centre for Mediaeval Studies, lectures or study days at the Belgium Mediaeval Network ... - making connections).

Specialization in mediaeval literature.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Choose the course Philology and Mediaeval Literature in the module of general Masters courses.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
In each seminar, students will be assisted in drafting a piece of written work which will be presened to the class during a study day. The oral examination will consist of a discussion around an analytical work. The final grade will be composed of the average of these two results.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Students will be assessed on the basis of a written analytical work (demonstrating the capacity to collate a bibliography, to develop an analytical criticism of the aspect being studied), as well as the oral presentation to the class of the results of this research.
