The Italian Novel from 1980 to 2010
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To know the major trends of Italian fiction over the last 30 years through the study of texts concerning this period, whit the aim of producing knowledge of the modern Italian language (reading and writing).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Different works (reading, translation, oral and writing exercises, summaries) aiming at the global and detailed comprehension of Italian texts. Interactive method.

Recommended or required readings :  
Apart from the short stories (which will be circulated in class), the student must read : -Sandro VERONESI, La forza del passato [2000], Bompiani 2007 ; - three novels (one for each decade), chosen from a list wich will be made available; - M. SANTAGATA, L. CAROTTI, A. CASADEI, M. TAVONI, Il filo rosso. Antologia e storia della letteratura italiana ed europea, Vol. 3.3, Bari, Laterza, 2006; - S. RICCIARDI, Gli artifici della non-fiction. La messinscena narrativa in Albinati, Franchini, Veronesi, Massa, Transeuropa, 2011.
