Course contents :  
Advanced introduction to the reading of a work of modern Dutch literary prose. Discussion and use of the narratological tools.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Familiarising the students with the current methodology in the field of the interpretation of Dutch literary prose, in order to prepare them for the writing of a Master's thesis and of papers.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
A good command of spoken and written Dutch.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Lectures and presentations on Claus's life and work and on their context. Analysis of the novel De verwondering.
