Course contents :

| Advanced introduction to the reading of a work of modern Dutch literary prose. Discussion and use of the narratological tools. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Familiarising the students with the current methodology in the field of the interpretation of Dutch literary prose, in order to prepare them for the writing of a Master's thesis and of papers. |

| A good command of spoken and written Dutch. |

| Lectures and presentations on Claus's life and work and on their context. Analysis of the novel De verwondering. |
