Course contents :  
The course is designed to serve as introduction to geomorphology ; it is split in 2 parts:
1) dynamic geomorphology : a. river erosion & aggradation b. pediments, inselbergs & peneplanation c. slope erosion d. glacial erosion, inlandsis, mountain models e. eolian erosion f. cycles of erosion 2) geomorphology of Belgium: excursion
Learning outcomes of the course :  
1) acquisition of basis knowledge about the earth crust & its evolution
2) comprehension of phenomena leading to the formation & the evolution of natural landscapes 3) comprehension of Belgian abiotic landscapes & geomorphology
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Geology, mineralogy, petrography 1BAP
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Personal geomorphic analysis of a landscape + excursion report
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Front lectures + geomorphic excursion
Recommended or required readings :  
Power Point notes available on USB key + excursion papers
Assessment methods and criteria :  
oral presentation of the personal geomorphic analysis (50%) + excursion written report (50%)
