| Introduction to research in medieval History. Pratical exercises. |

| At the end of the year, the student will be able
- to initiate a documentary research
- to identify a narrative or diplomatic source
- to communicate orally or in writing the result of his/her research
- to retranslate and to give a commentary on the latin texts given in courses

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Notions of classical latin grammar
A perfect command of the oral and written French. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Theoretical introduction to rules of historical criticism in medieval history and to the typology of western medieval sources.
Collaborative practical exercises in class and individual pratice in library. |
