Course contents :  
Through their distinctive roles and organizational forms, social enterprises deal with specific governance and human resource management (HRM) challenges. These domains examine the contribution of people within and around the organization to the goals and strategies. This course aims to understand the how social enterprises experience governance (Board, general assembly, etc.) and HRM models (recruiting, evaluation, training, volunteering, etc.). Some juridical notions are also explained to understand the legal constraints affecting governance and HRM in the context of social enterprises (nonprofits, co-operatives and other forms).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The course is composed of 10 x 3h classes. For each part (governance and HRM), theoretical classes will introduce the topic, before spending more time meeting field realities.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
The evaluation will consist of a work on governance and HRM in a case of a social enterprise chosen by each student. Data will have to be collected and processed to enable links with the theoretical elements and propose some practical recommendations.
