- Roles of a machine: transmission of mouvements, forces and torques, energy
- Characteristics of the industrial products, technical specifications
- Principles of technical drawing, computer aided design
- Materials in mechanical construction
- Assemblies with welded joints and with screws, fasteners and connections
- Guiding in rotation and translation
- Power transmission

| After completing the course the student is expected to
- use the appropriate technical vocabulary
- be familiar with technical drawings
- know the characteristics of the main machines elements
- be able to calculate the main machines elements
