Course contents :  
The course is devoted to the basic concepts, issues and techniques for the identification and development of integrated and sustainable transport and mobility projects [technically feasible, economically possible, socio-economically and environmentally acceptable] designed to solve a problem, and to meet the needs of the present and future transport system (infrastructure, organization / management, operations, etc.). The course consists of five parts. The first part begins with the definition of the concept of transport system followed by a discussion on the issue of transport and sustainable mobility, as well as related constraints and. Thereafter, the major elements to make the diagnosis of the transport system are presented: the analysis of the components of the space within which the transport system and the analysis of the supply and the demand for transport. The second part is devoted to the analysis of the supply and the identification of possible policy actions. The third part deals with the analysis of the demand and the identification of policy action. Considering the main objective of sustainable development of the transport system and mobility and other objectives of the decision maker, the fourth section examines the actual generation of integrated and sustainable transport and mobility. The fifth section presents methods of classification and selection of integrated transport and mobility. Two approaches are particularly studied: cost-benefit analysis and multi-criteria analysis. Emphasis is placed on techniques to perform an objective classification of integrated projects to help the decision maker in his final choice of project implementation. To illustrate the concepts learned in practice, the course includes practical sessions devoted to the use of technical modeling, forecasting, simulation and evaluation transport. These illustrations are mainly focused on the case of urban space. Students will perform group work (mini-project) on a specific topic.
