Course contents :  
Seminars are organized according to some themes choosen together by students and teachers. These themes deal with concrete problems related to rural economics and sociology in developed as well as in developing economics.
Seminars are organized in order to encourage active participation of students. Students are invited to prepare each seminar with the appropriate litterature available to them.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The objectives of the seminars are to analyse and to go deeply into issues that are specific to rural economics and sociology and to address these issues with the available quantitative methods. Group projects, presentations from externals with professional or academic experience and field trips contribute to reach these objectives.
After completing the course the student is expected to
Grasp the specific problems in the economy of the development
Argue a position during a statement or a debate
Criticize and make a scientific summary
