Course contents :
 |
| The course is divided into three parts.
In the first part of the course we tackle the basics of restorative justice (RJ) through the following themes: the concept of RJ, its inspirations, models of RJ practices and their relationship with the criminal justice system, the main players in RJ practices.
The second part of the course presents and evaluates the Belgian restorative practices.
The third part of the course explores European and international RJ policies and analyses the results of evaluative research. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| - Gain basic knowledge of restorative justice in general and belgian restorative practices in particular; devote particular attention to the European and international dimension of developments in RJ.
- Further the students' skills in oral expression and their sense of critical analysis through the preparation of readings and personal opinions and through class discussion. |

| - The students have to do readings and consult web sites in preparation of certain sessions;
- lectures by the teacher;
- view of documentaries;
- class discussions. |
