Course contents :  
Introduction. Classification of coals. Thermodynamics of coal gasification reactions. Kinetics of coal gasification reactions. Vapogasification. Hydrogasification. Pyrolysis. The gasifiers (fixed-bed, fluidized-bed, entrained-bed, molten salt). Coal liquefaction (direct and indirect liquefaction). Commercial processes (Lurgi, Winkler,...). Underground coal gasification.

Notions to calculate gasifiers.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Bachelor in Engineering or in Chemistry.

No workshop.
