 |
 | Closely related to architecture, the studios 1 in means of expression aim to develop skills in 4 essential areas:
-Observation: learning to see architecture
-Representation: presentation & communication of architectural ideas
-Deconstruction: learning how to analyse architecture
-Composition: how to compose things
These studios take place in the first 3 years, with a specific focus in each year. There is also an option to continue the course at a master's level.
Studio 1 titled space and forms concentrates on the idea of composition in architecture. A course of lectures gives a theoretic base to the subject, presenting a series of architecture projects analysed according to their style of composition. This theoretical basis is reinforced with a practical design studio where the question of generating shapes & forms from a simple spatial concept is explored through models. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
|
 | | Workshop 1 |

 |
 | In this studio students will learn how to manage the development of a coherent architectural project. This is essential as a means to express conceptual ideas.
The course research process is developed through the production & analysis of architectural models. Students will learn how to use this process to critique and develop their own projects in studio. |
