Course contents :  
The theme of the teaching will vary each year. This year the question chosen for talks and discussions is the misunderstanding.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Critical readings, discussion of different points of view, listening of other points of view, arguing and reasoning.

Anthropology of communication
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
This course is a seminar. Each student will have to give a talk of about one hour around the theme discussed (this year : misunderstanding). The talk will then be followed by a discussion. The attendance is required. The talk will be constructed from relevant readings, with possibly some ethnographic data collected during one of the fieldwork that students realise along their studies. The talks will be around one hour long.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
The assessment will take into account the quality of the oral presentation and the engagement into the discussions. The assessemnt criteria of the oral presentation are the following : structure, bibliography, reasoning, questionning, understanding of the readings, presentation).

The attendance is required. The schedule of the presentation will be established at the first session.
