Course contents :

| Introduction to the intangible cultural heritage : definition, history, institutions and methodology to conduct an inquiry
Presentation of the different involved fields : oral expressions (languages/ songs/ legends), performing arts (music/ dance/ puppets theatre), rituals ans social practices (festivals/ games/ devoutness) and traditional knowledges (handycrafts/ alimentation/ medecine) |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| Make clear the notion of intangible cultural heritage and explain its importance and social stakes. We'll focus on the intangible heritage in Wallonia, regarding to the global change. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Students must inquire and build up a file on a specific field of the intangible cultural heritage by choosing their witness(es).
For this following year, we'll focus on traditional use of medicinal herbs. This study 'll be done in close co-operation with the Pharmagnosical unity of the Medicine Faculty (prof. Michel Frédérich). |
