| This course is about fire risks in buildings.
The conditions in which a fire starts, develops and and can lead to flash-over will be explained.
Some information will be given on the legal system in Belgium with regard to fire prevention.
It will be explaineed how a building structure has to be conceived in order to develop a satisfactory behaviour when subjected to a fire. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify situations that may lead to a severre fire, to identify structures that may have an unsatisfactory behaviour in case of fire and to find his way among the main lines of the legal system in Belgium. |
