Historique de la formation :
  • 1994 : Création en Belgique, à l'Université de Liège (ULg) et à l'Université Catholique de Louvain (KUL) d'un cours de formation officielle de Perfusionnistes
  • 1999: Accréditation des 2 écoles belges par l'European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP)
  • 2004 : Décision des 2 Universités d'uniformiser les programmes et d'élargir la formation à des domaines requérant une compétence paramédicale particulière.


At the end of this course, students will be able to manage all extra-corporeal circulation during cardiac surgery or other form of surgery, all extra-corporeal circulation with therapeutic aims, including circulatory and respiratory assistance, chemotherapy ... to manage all auto-transfusion techniques and various blood treatments, carrying out any technical procedures which are particularly technical.

Cette formation s'adresse aux titulaires d'un diplôme infirmier gradué A1.
Les personnes intéressées sont invitées à prendre contact avec le responsable de la formation pour examen de leur candidature.

Duration of the training

  • Two years of study (60 credits for the whole course).
  • The course is spread over 10 modules.

    Modules 1 to 5 will be given in the first year, alternating with internships within the institution (60 hours minimum)
    Modules 6 to 10 will be given in the second year and students should undertake the remaining internship hours (120 hours) either in the school or in a satellite centre approved by the University and by the EBCP.

Assessment

At the end of each year, students will sit written or oral exams at the end of June. A second session is scheduled in September.
At the end of the second year, students should also present a final piece of work. If required, this work may be postponed upon written request to the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
