Course contents :  
Partim I :
The course is first composed of a description of medications used in emergency situations and explains the drug contents of resuscitation carts and stocks in emergency units. Questions of special pharmacology are then approached, related to drug available and used in emergency units to face life treathening situations

Partim II :
Critical analysis of Belgian hospital pharmacy accreditation standards - Hospital pharmacy financing - Analysis of drug distribution systems (efficacy, safety and economical aspects) with focus on intensive care and emergency units - Management of stocks and flow of products in the hospital
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Partim II :
To define the missions, duties and responsibilities of a hospital pharmacy and of hospital pharmacists
To approach legal, technical and evaluative aspects of drug management in a hospital with special emphasis on intensive care and emergency units environment
