During the 1st Masters, students will carry out a work placement worth 12 credits in a working environment likely to lead to the acquisition of expertise in the field of the science of work.
The seminar aims to support students through their work experience. It will provide them with the methodological tools necessary to acquire the ability to adopt a critical position and to set out a research problem based on their observations. Finally, the seminar will help students to structure their placement report.
Learning outcomes of the course :
The course has a two-fold objective. On the one hand, it offers the tools for analysing the work placement from a methodological point of view. On the other hand, it offers a theoretical framework for students' experiences on the ground, using a collectively constructed research problem.

Themes will be addressed either in the form of seminars or discussion sessions.

Assessment methods and criteria :
(1st and 2nd session)

In January theoretical and methodological knowledge relating to social science research will be assessed through an oral exam.
For the June session, students will have to carry out two pieces of work. The first piece of work consists of carrying out an interview, transcribing it and drafting a one-page critical note. The second piece of work covers a research problem which has been developed through the seminars.
