Professional focus in Environmental Monitoring

The course includes two parts :

- Observation traineeship in a company to follow a team during the real live situation of environmental monitoring (for 5 credits).

- An "end-of-study" work during which the student appropriates a subject and leads it within a scientific research approach. The subject must be related to environmental monitoring (for 22 credits).
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Professional focus in Environmental Monitoring

For the traineeship, the student must appreciate the way of applying environmental monitoring in a company or an administration with respect to the teaching.

For the end-of-study work, the aim is to be able analyzing a subject from the state-of-the-art until the final discussion of results. The stress is laid on the application of the concepts learnt during the courses in a real-life situation.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

The course takes place after the series of courses of the professional focus in "Environmental Monitoring", so that the student has already learnt good notions of data collection and data processing.

Some workshops to orientate the student in his choices and to assess the evolution of the work.

Traineeship report + manuscript for the end-of-study work and oral presentation. Criteria are chiefly based on scientific rigor and critical analysis.
