| The student will have to perform an autonomous research under the guidance of his (her) promotor. The subject of the research will be selected among those proposed in the department. This work includes a state of the art. |

Assessment methods and criteria :

| The assessment of the Master thesis will take into account :
- the amount of personal work ;
- the capacity of autonomous work during the year and especially in the interpretation of the results ;
- the quality of the manuscript in its form (fluidity, correct spelling, quality of the figures,...) and content ;
- the quality of the oral presentation and the relevance of the answers. |

| Depending on the subject, it might be necessary to perform short stays in other laboratories, belgian or foreign, for sampling, analyses... |
