Course contents :  
This course is divided in a theorical part and a more important practical part. It targets students who wish to learn the basis of the neuroanatomy of rodents (rat and mouse)often used in experimental research. The course presents various techniques of experimetal neuroanatomy and offer to use some of them during the practical part of the course.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The main goal of this course is to provide theorical and practical bases of the rodent (rat and mouse) neuroanatomy. To achieve this, different techniques used in neuroanatomy will be described during the theorical part of the course and some of them will be used during the hands-on part of the course. It should be noted that most of the course is focused on experimental approaches.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic knowledge in neurobiology is requested.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The practical aspect of the course aims at giving the students a chance to experiment various techniques described during the theorical part of the course and to study the neuroanatomy of the mouse. This practical course will take place at several locations according to the techniques used and to the need of a specialized equipment.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
The finl note will be based on the student work during the practical course, on the student report and on the student score during an oral exam.
