| The course aims at giving to the students a synthetic view of the specificities of plant viruses [their biology as well as their interactions with the plants, their environment and vectors]. The course also presents the bases of the different control strategies of virus diseases. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| After completing the course the student must show its capacity of using information resources to:
- Identify the different steps of the virus cycle targeted by the control methods
- Quantify the impact of the different control strategies on the development of the epidemics
- Evaluate the biological and socio economical constraints on the choice of the control methods by growers to ensure a sustainable production
