Lecturer :  Peter Schlagheck
Language(s) of instruction :
French language
Course contents :
The aim of this course is to familiarize the student with relativistic quantum mechanics. It covers the relativistic wave equations (Klein-Gordon, Dirac, Maxwell) for spin 0, 1/2 or 1 particles. It gives also a short introduction to quantum statistics for relativistic particles.
Learning outcomes of the course :
The objective is to describe relativistics quantum mechanics and discuss the implications of the various wave equations.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
Having followed an introductory course on non-relativistic quantum mechanics
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Solution of illustrative exercises
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
see official time schedule
Assessment methods and criteria :
Individual oral exam (30 minutes).
