Course contents :  
Each year, a topic is examined in terms of some of its historical developments, from Ancient time down to the work of the present day. The seminar welcomes a variety of lecturers, and takes place on one or several days of study devoted to the chosen topic. The subject chosen for 2011-2012 is the relationship between logic and ontology.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Deeper understanding of concepts and issues in modal logic by knowledge of their historical development.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Bachelor's degree knowledge in logic and history of philosophy.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Written essay on a topic related to modal logic.
