Course contents :

| In 2011-2012 the first part of the course has to do with the notions of space and motion. The second part of the course deals with the question of determinism. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| To understand how scientifical problematics and philosophical questions can intercross and be mutually transformed.
To be aware of the interest and vitality of research in the philosophy of sciences by the thorough enquiry into some particular questions. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| The course "Introduction à la philosophie des sciences" (2d candidature) is a useful but not essential prerequisite. Understanding of this course is made easier by a good command of physics and mathematics at secondary school level. |
