Course contents :  
The course is devoted to the reading and explanation of one philosophical work from the Antiquity.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The aim of the course is learning to read an ancient philosophical text by the understanding of its particular expression and way of thinking.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
The knowledge of Ancient Greek is not required.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
1st half-year 2011, Thursday 4-6 pm. and Friday 9-11 am. The lessons will be given twice a month, the following Thursdays and Fridays: 22nd and 23rd of September; 6th and 7th, 20th and 21st of October; 3rd and 4th, 17th and 18th of November; 1st and 2nd, 15th and 16th of December.
Recommended or required readings :  
Book required : ARISTOTE, De l'âme, traduit par J. Tricot (Paris, Vrin, Bibliothèque des textes philosophiques - Poche).
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Oral examination in January.
