| Verification and validation (V&V) of dynamic models are a key issue for the structural engineering. Verification amounts to solving the equations correctly (e.g., time step and finite element mesh), whereas validation guarantees that the correct equations are solved (e.g., influence of boundary conditions and nonlinearities). The objective of this course is to give a gentle introduction to these two important concepts and illustrate them using aerospace applications (ground vibration testing of aircrafts, satellites and launch vehicles) |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| See above |
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
| Theory of vibrations. Measuring vibrations and identifying structures. |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| A project will be given to students. This project involves the practical application of the theoretical concepts covered during the lectures. |
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| 2nd semestre |
Assessment methods and criteria :
| Grading will be based solely on the realization of the project and its oral defense. |
