Course contents :
This course is devoted to the work of methods engineers, that is establishing manufacturing shedules, in the case of cutting operations.
CONTENTS :
Choice of a steel. Tolerances and roughness measures. Machining steps dimensioning : scattering, setting dimension, cutting simulation. Fixing devices and rules. Machine/tool interface, from a dimensional point of view. CNC machining. Sawing and broaching. Gear cutting. Screw machining on a lathe. Division. Turning optimization.
Learning outcomes of the course :
After this course, the student will be able to establish a pertinent fabrication schedule, from the rough to the finished part, in the case of cutting operations. He will also be able to select a steel for a given application. His general knowing of cutting process will be enlarged, including N.C. machining.
