| Textual semiotics provides a method to analyse texts, literary or not, based upon linguistic premises. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| 1. Initiation to methods and practices of internal analysis, particularly of literary texts. 2. Inititation to theoretical problems about linguistic textual analysis. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Competence in French language is essential for an appreciation of the complexities of French texts. |
