Course contents :
|
| The course will be divided into 5 sessions. During the first session, the assessment in speech therapy and the methodological considerations underlying a standardised assessment will be defined. The following sessions will be dedicated to describing the specific assessment of the phonological, lexical, morphosyntactic, and pragmatic abilities respectively. The qualitative analysis of the results as well as the analysis of spontaneous language will be also trained. |

| The learning outcomes are defined following the Skills Repository established by Maillart and colleagues at the University of Liège (Maillart, Grevesse & Sadzot, 2009).
Trained skills: language assessment.
Targeted knowledge: knowledge of the methodological aspects of the assessment; knowledge of the assessment tools.
Targeted know-how: mastering of the assessment tools; selection of the assessment tools adapted to a specific patient.
Targeted professional attitudes: critical thinking; intellectual curiosity. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Knowledge of the basic statistical concepts (mean, standard deviation, normally distributed skills). |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
|
| The course is divided into two main parts: first, the teaching of the theoretical aspects about the cognitive functions underlying oral language; second, the training to the assessment of oral language through exercises. |
|
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
|
| There will be 15 hours of face-to-face teaching. Moreover, exercises will be proposed on e-campus (distance-learning). |
