Course contents :  
Introduction to the work of Louis Paul Boon, one of the most important postwar Flemish novelists. Discussion of the relationship between work and context. Analysis and interpretation of two late novels.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Increasing the understanding of the ideological and cultural context of literature. Increasing the capacity to undertake discursive analyses.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good command of spoken and written Dutch. Capacity to use the toolbox of literary/discursive analysis.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Lectures (introduction). Individual presentations and collective discussions (compulsory participation). Papers (on a voluntary basis).
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Face-to-face. Supplementary materials will be made available online.
