Course contents :  
Biennial class (even years). Translation from Ancient Greek and Greek prose composition. Some short chapters from Greek grammar. Private reading in 2010-2011: Pindar's Olympian Odes.

Enhancing students' knowledge of Ancient Greek.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Very good knowledge of Ancient Greek language (grammar, stylistics and vocabulary).

Active participation in the exercises.

The course supports will be available on Blackboard. Private reading during the year 2010-2011 (Pindar's Olympian Odes) was based on the Paris edition by Aimé Puech, Les Belles Lettres, Collection des Universités de France, 1931 (2nd ed.).
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written exam. Oral examination on the private reading. There is also an evaluation of the written tests that take place during the academic year.
