Study of the vocabulary and the main chapters of Dutch grammar through grammar (drill) exercises, reading, writing, speaking and listening activities. The subjects are of general interest.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The objective is that all students get the same level at the end of the year.

Various strategies will enable students to practice basic language skills.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
A basic knowledge of oral and written Dutch is required.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
2 hours every week the whole year.
It is possible to follow @lter Basic at the same time.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written an oral examination at the end of the year. Written examination, with listening comprehension. Oral examination in two parts : 1st part about one of the topics discussed in class, 2nd part about an article that students chose in the newspaper or on internet. The article must be handed in before end of april.
