Course contents :  
This course covers the following subjects: Elementary notions on digital circuits (logic gates, combinatorial and sequential circuits) and Boolean logic, binary representation of numbers (signed and unsigned integers, reals), main hardware components of a computer (processor, memory, communication busses, ...), instructions and their execution, assembly language, assembly programming.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Understanding the internal structure and principles of operation of computers.

None.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Exercise sessions.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Theoretical lessons followed by exercise sessions. The course is given on the second semester.

Course notes are distributed by the student union press (AEES).
Assessment methods and criteria :  
A written exam in june. A written exam in september.
