Course contents :  
In this course, the students work in small groups to write a substantial program using the JAVA language. The project is phased in order to spread the work along the semester and to make it possible to correct early mistakes. Examples of projects given in previous years are an internet search engine, a word processor and a spreadsheet.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
After completing this course, the student will master object-oriented programming sufficiently to be able to build a non-trivial application.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Knowledge of object-oriented programmaing and of the JAVA language.

Programming project
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
1st semester - Meetings for discussing the problem statements and to answer questions. Programming work to be done in small groups.

Grading of the programs that are written. Oral presentation of the project.
