Course contents :  
Detailed study of common woody plants in our parks and gardens.
Deciduous and coniferous trees and bushes - Gymnosperms
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To master and be able to use botanical terms as well as to recognise the main ornamental woody plants.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic understanding of organography and systems
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Exercises will be organised including the observation of leafless twigs and observation of the herbarium.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Presentation of plants using slides Field study Sessions in the herbarium.
Recommended or required readings :  
Two books on the understanding of woody plants are on sale through the student association (ISIa)
Many documents are available in the library
Plant nursery websites are recommended.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Recognition tests throughout the year (trees - bushes)
Recognition test and examination of general knowledge at the end of the year.
Organizational remarks :  
This subject will be regularly revised depending on how the course progresses.
