Course contents :  
I. Who was Zoroaster? II. Iranian pantheon and Avestan texts. III Zoroastrian eschatology. IV. Darius' political mazdeism.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To provide a better understanding of the texts seen in Old and middle Iranian languages and to show the links with other old oriental religious traditions.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
30 h spread out over the first semester. Timetable set with the students. Opening session in September announced on Section notice board. The attendance is obligatory.
