Learning outcomes of the course :  
Introduction to monographic study of an artist and his work. Analysis and interpretation of art in an historical perspective (iconological approach). Introduction to scientific examination of paintings. Introduction to connoisseurhip.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
- Good knowledge of European Art History of the 15th and 16th centuries; - ability to use a bibliography including books or articles in English, Dutch and German.
