(The lecture is held in German.) Einführung in die Geschichte der deutschen Sprache von den Anfängen bis heute.
Introduction to the history of German from the beginnings to the present.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Die Studenten sollen einen Uberblick über die Geschichte der deutschen Sprache in ihrem kulturhistorischen Kontext gewinnen, die charakteristischen Merkmale der verschiedenen Sprachstufen kennenlernen und mit den Beziehungen des Deutschen zu verwandten Sprachen vertrauter werden.
The lecture will give a survey of the history of German in its cultural context. Furthermore, the students will be familiarized with characteristics of the different periods of German language and with systematical relationships between German and other languages related to it.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Gute Deutschkenntnisse.
Good command of German.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
