  • Roles of a machine: transmission of mouvements, forces and torques, energy
  • Characteristics of the industrial products, technical specifications
  • Principles of technical drawing, computer aided design
  • Materials in mechanical construction
  • Assemblies with welded joints and with screws, fasteners and connections
  • Guiding in rotation and translation
  • Power transmission
Learning outcomes of the course :  
After completing the course the student is expected to

  • use the appropriate technical vocabulary
  • be familiar with technical drawings
  • know the characteristics of the main machines elements
  • be able to calculate the main machines elements
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
-- LT201 - Strength of materials and elasticity
-- ME207 - Kinematics and dynamics of machines

The lecture uses the software Autocad
