Le cours is divided in 7 chapters.
1. Introduction
2. Climate System
3. Paleoclimate archives
4. dating methods
5. Climate forcings
6. Evolution of climate over time
7. Perspectives
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The aim of the course is to present the climate system and its main forcingsand, to define the paleoclimate approach.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
None.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
(a) Exercices.
(b) Visit of a research laboratory.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Course will be given during the first semester. 10 times 3 hours par week. Lectures followed by exercices. Room: building B18, Geology
Recommended or required readings :  
Copy of slides.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Examination will include two parts.
Theory (60 % of final quotation). Individual oral examination (15 minutes + preparation). Comments of figures and/or tables presented during the lectures.
TP Written report of exercices (max. 2 pages each - 15% of evaluation). Oral presentation of one exercice (25% note finale).
