Course contents :  
Main types of sedimentary deposits. Properties of extracted rocks in relation with their genesis and their industrial use. Some aspects concerning carbonated rocks. Geological model to forecast carbonate deposits.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Basic knowledge and methodology for prospecting, recognizing, developing and mining sedimentary non-metallic deposits.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Bachelor of geology or equivalents.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Macro and microscopic study of rocks having an economic interest. Description of a borehole. Appraisal of a deposit. Visit of quarries.
