| GEOL0206-3 | Geochemistry

| Duration : | 30h Th |
| Number of credits : |
| Lecturer : | Jacqueline Vander Auwera |
Language(s) of instruction :
| French language |
Course contents :
| Following an introduction to the early differentiation of the Earth, the first part of the course is devoted to the tools of geochemistry (trace elements, isotopic geochemistry). In the second part, the successive parts of the Earth (core, mantle, continental and oceanic crusts, oceans) are successively studied using the informations and constraints provided by geochemistry. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| The intent of this course is to introduce the students to geochemistry. |
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
| The course is based on basic principles of mineralogy as well as magmatic, metamorphic and sedimentary petrology. |
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
| 15 lectures of 2H in which exercises are included. |
