Course contents :

| Methods for reconstructing palaeogeographies. Oceanic and marine dynamics and sea-level variations during the ancient times. Palaeoclimatic and palaeogeographic evolution. Major crises (late Ordovician, late Devonian, P/T and K/T boundaries, Messinian event, end of the last glaciation,...). |

| General knowledge of the contingent evolution of the biosphere and palaeogeography. Integration and discussion on datas from earth sciences for evolution and events reconstruction. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| The two field days are devoted to the study of the geological record of palaeoclimatic and eustatic fluctuations and the tectonical influence in sedimentary series. |
