Course contents :  
Brittle structures: joints and faults. Ductile structures: cleavage, lineation, boudinage, shear zones and folds.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
At the end of the course, the student must be capable of recognizing and interpreting tectonic structures, from microscope scale up to regional scale.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Course of general geology.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written examination (one exercise) and oral examination (one theoretical question and determination of a tectonic structure from a rock sample or a photograph).
